And how is this the fault of Chinese people? Isn't it a bit ironic, similar to blaming the entire Indian competitive programming community, when one person is caught cheating?

A virus could have originated anywhere. Remember Ebola? Or SARS? or MERS? Or even the Spanish Flu? My point is — conditions contribute to virus spread, not the people. China produced the virus, but they've recovered. So has USa, and a lot of other countries. WE haven't because the condititons in our country aren't as good. So blaming the Chinese for your uncle's death due to Covid is not justified. And specially not the Chinese competitive programmers, who are just like their Indian counterparts, trying out something which they find fun and something which can improve their life in a certain way.

Lastly- may your uncle's soul rest in peace. May the Lord grant your family with stability. And you too — stay safe!

Yeah i know right, also blaming the entire (large fraction of which is legit) community of Indian competitive programmers for a small fraction of people cheating is NOT justified, which not some, but a lot of people fail to understand :(

No Noo, I was WITH you man. I just added to your statement (perhaps I wrote it in the wrong way)

I quoted what you said in your comment, and added that both are equally wrong — blaming China for the pandemic, and India for the fraction of cheaters.

First of all , do you have any evidence to show that DMCS is Chinese?

Secondly , no one wants the Covid to spread in this world. You have no moral right to blame us , perhaps you need to blame your government.

You are blatantly racist, racial discrimination is strictly banned on Codeforces. I wish you could open your own eyes more to see!

I think Codeforces should include an option to hide the recent sections because I'm sick of it. Almost everyone on this platform is racist and/or toxic be it Russians/Indians/Chinese/Polish/Red Coders/LGMs/Grays in equal proportion. More abuse than problem/question or contest discussion now a days.

May your Uncle rest in peace.

To all the small eyed countries. You need to understand most Indians come here for learning programming so that they can crack an interview and land a better job. Their posts are naive and complaining because they are inexperienced unpriviledged people unlike some of your 1st world asses. Regarding the post of cheating it was just his inexperience not understanding that one contest does not matter in the giant scheme. But instead you labelled it for everyone. Your privilege reeks of unempathy and your downvotes does not bring my uncle back. So STFU.

His job, his interview. His internet, his PC. He does whatever seems legit. Who are you to intervene?

Also, please share a single line/comment/page/link on Codeforces where it officially states that Codeforces shoudn't be used if you're doing interview preperation.

      Thank You

Dude, this is a CP site. Interview problems are totally different and required different approaches. You must know the difference between the two, For interviews, we have Leetcode. People come here to improve their problem-solving skills and not for preparing for interviews.

I am sympathetic that your uncle died of Covid, condolences from a fellow stranger.

Your existence is a pain to the world. I wish you could open your eyes more to see.

However, this is outright racism and one should never counteract racism with racism. Please be considerate of them as well and wonder how much hate they are getting in so many different parts of the world, just because coronavirus pandemic started in their country. We all are fellow people from different part of the worlds, with different goals. Let codeforces be that way, and not turn into a racist site. Let us all be welcoming of each other cultures, and tiny nuances.

This might or might not be a good idea, but let me just put it forward,

Rather than having just unrated not being able to post, there can be a threshold like maybe 1200.

Again , this is just my thought , but like there are a lot of useless posts that I've seen on my recent actions sidebar.

Please do suggest more things or improvements or is what I am thinking wrong totally?

I feel that along with a rating threshold of 1200/1400, the number of rated contests should also be taken into account (at least 10).

Dude, don't ban newbies to talk lol. Those posts just look useless but it's pretty natural to ask how many hours to dedicate in CP when you're new in the field. If you start some other activities, same questions would pop in your head. So, let them ask.
I know those questions people ask in the blog are googlable but still. It feels better if you get direct replies.
I think banning unrated users to spam is fine. No need to put any rating boundaries.

See, like i message someone i follow in CP or like I message someone who has solved that problem if I don't get the editorial , a blog for such a thing Is kindah too much.

At least that's what I feel, I get it kindah wrong to implement something like this , but looking at recent events and (at least) me being annoyed by this , I made such suggestion.

When I started CP, I didn't know any of my friend doing that. Just headed here referred from an article I guess to give a shot.
Even if you got people, it's fine to ask in a community. You can get many insights from them. Those new people need guidance and even us little experienced people too. Blog for a problem is kinda too much but also that kinda gives you more insight. You would find some people spamming with hints. You would find 100 other people trying that problem. Interestingly, I learnt rerooting technique from a help post of a pupil. He just wanted help in a problem and it actually helped me too.
This is a community for a reason.

Sacchidananda, I am just a student of C.S. and not an epidemiologist, but I think that we can all agree that it is not a good idea for a few million to congregate whether a pandemic is ongoing or is strongly expected to occur anytime soon.

P.S: I won't be contributing any further into turning this blog into just another bigotic and opinionated reddit thread.

It is not right to blame the common people of China for Covid-19 virus. This definitely is not the right place to discuss BUT..... would like to know the views of Chinese people on some wide questions ,as all we are left with are unanswered questions :-

1) Why has no one in your country come up and explain the situation?

2) If you feel your government is responsible for the production of the Virus or the Virus originated from your country , do you guys plan to do something to prevent another pandemic 10 years down the lane or you feel it's not your responsibility?

3) How is this not a war? The only difference is that the enemy might be smarter than us.

4) If your country has recovered , does it mean that the pandemic is over?

For the first time in human history, men/women have fought alongside despite which part of the border they come from. But the war is not over. Why do you think people are obsessed about establishing a colony on Mars? Because the greed of a person can never be fulfilled and when people have a "moving on not my problem" attitude, hope seems to be vanishing day by day.

We all are the same people who have lost our loved ones, our jobs, our emergency funds, our social and mental health.

And guess what we have no one to hold accountable, neither our government nor "YOU KNOW 'WHO' " , nor any other government. Because we too are common people with common problems and our voices are never heard except when there are elections of course.

What can we do?

a) Well, follow Covid guidelines.

b) We need to make sure that another such pandemic is the last thing we need to worry about. And people need to wake up , it's beyond time. If there is a possibility of origins of Virus spreading from species to species , then we as humans need to break this chain(we all know what this means).

c) For once let us put aside our monetary benefits and think about people in general. If today someone's uncle died(God bless his soul), can we be sure that we are fully protected or there will be no such pandemic again.

This is not a blame post and if you think your feelings are hurt think about the person whose mother, father, brother and sister in law , all died because of Covid in a span of a month and has nothing left to live for and many other such people.

Stay safe , stay healthy.

I am from China. My English is not very good so sorry for some grammar mistakes here. First of all, this really is not the right place to discuss problems like that. Personally I don't think that China is responsible for the production of the virus. WHO has made statements that the virus might as well come from the wild, which means no one created it. China might just happened to be the first place where the virus was detected. Since the world is too deeply connected nowadays, the spread could be very quick.

I believe and witness the efforts made by Chinese government to stop the spread of the virus both in and out of China. Last year we were unable to go to school for about four months and we took online classes. The vaccine has been invented (is it the right word to use?) and Chinese government has offered help to lots of countries that did not have that much access to vaccines. China has sent medical teams abroad to help stop the spread and cure the patients and stuff like that last year, after the spread in China has been under controlled.

Nowadays the world is getting smaller, and the connections are tighter than ever. The spread can be very quick so we must all work together. Every death caused by the virus is very sad.

I wish we could overcome the pandemic soon.

All right! Let me extend an olive branch here. I have been here for 4 years. My first account was — https://codeforces.com/profile/sparshgunner12. I used to practice problems daily here. I owe everything to this community. It landed me a job at Google straight out of college with figures never seen in my family. When I looked at that post it did not make me feel anything. It was just a joke but my aspiring ass back then would have certainly raged and caused mental distress. So before posting a joke just remember it is very easy to be racist. If you feel you want to crack a joke just remember to be empathetic. It is too easy to be racist. It is tough times for all of us. A lot of people are out of jobs. A lot of people are trying to improve with whatever means possible.

I'm literally cringing at this whole blog. Even if the virus did originate in China (which there are evidences that it came from a lab) its the fault of the lab, a very small community of people who didn't take the required precautions. Majority of chinese (like literally 99.99999%) suffered just like any random person from your nationality. Infact they suffered much more.

Idk man, people are so stupid. Literally whats the difference between a random working class chinese and a random person from your country. I've hated this game of drawing borders and blaming each other from the very start. Edit: I get that the chinese govn was at fault too for hiding the pandemic for 1-2 months, but I really hate how this blog mentions "All the Chinese"

first of all, may your uncle rest in peace. But you can stop blaming other nations for India's disastrous policy on COVID-19. In fact, the NEW COVID-19 VARIANT which was first discovered in Indian were could be 50% more transmissible compared to the UK one.

You indians don't even care about COVID-19 just several months ago, and still laughing at China's "human rights" when we lock down and our government take efficient methods to save our people. But what's next Indians do ? Indians don't ware masks and take part in election assembly, your government made disastrous policy, which made the virus spread rapidly, and created indian variant during the virus copying and spread. The Indian Variant is extremely transmissible and hurtful, and over 90 percent of indian cases was suffered from Indian Variant. What a pity that your died uncle was killed by indians. If you keep blaming on other country and don't think of yourselves, not only your uncle, but also your father, your mother, or even yourself will die because of indian variant. lol
