Correlation between magic rank and actual rank

I notice something quite interesting. The higher ranked people generally use magic to make themselves low ranked (such as cyan which is a very popular low ranked colour for some reason). Um_nik is one good example. On the other hand, we have real greys, greens, cyans and blue masquerading as as LGM or reds. I find this very fascinating and am able to conclude something. The lower your ranking, the more you feel you should higher ranked. Yet once u are at the top (like those LGMs), you think you are not that good and should be newbie instead. What do you guys think?

The lower your ranking, the more you feel you should higher ranked. ? I think we are doing it only for motivation purpose :) (and FUN)

Personally I am staying cyan because cyan is by far the best colour out there. This is also why most higher rated guys are becoming cyan.

You are becoming LGMs because that's a power fantasy. I actually think (no actual research done) that only people who are not serious about CP become LGM. Some people might change colour for motivation, but they usually go one rank higher, because that's an actually reachable goal.

LGMs don't have to prove anything anymore, so we change colours for LOLs or because we just like the colour. Cyan is just my favourite colour.

        Uhm maybe it is, maybe not. I'm not a fan of masquerading tho. If you seek for the research -is-this-fft- made a post a year ago that shouldn't have changed that much

Yes, I increased my rating, but not to LGM. And I like purple more than cyan.
