Hello CF community, I am currently around mid expert in my real codeforces account . Due to some reasons i will mostly participate alone in ICPC online India.

What minimum color rank a person should have to get into ICPC regional as effectively single person in team. I know Anudeep anudeep2011 Nekkanti did it in his time.

What practice strategy i should follow since i have 3 months in hand ?

My college routine would allow me to give around 6 hrs per day for practicing.

I can give more detail about myself if you want

thanks

Depends on the college sometimes. As ranklist is made to maximize different colleges in a regional site. So it is tougher for someone whose college has better teams competing for the same regional. Not saying that if you're the only one participating from your college than you can get through, you'll have to clear the cutoff for sure.

So... you are saying that your expected rank in a contest depends on the level of your competitors? What an interesting concept!

Maybe it sounds like that but the point I want to highlight is the role of maximizing number of unique colleges criterion. If two teams from college A scored 300 and 200 points respectively and best team from college B scored 200. If you have to invite only 2 teams you'll invite top teams from college A and B, second team from college A had no fault but they won't be selected in this situation. As written here preference is generally given to maximizing the number of unique colleges at onsite contest.

Isn't that true? If not, then how do I have multiple under 100 rank in Codechef Div 1 but not in Codeforces Div 1? :P

No one on cf blogs would actually think "under 100 rank in Codechef Div 1" is flex worthy. XD

This is probably gonna change as I think codechef is gaining popularity among higher level people. Of course this also means we will stop getting such ranks in the first place

Wait is it possible to participate alone? I thought 3 memebers are required. Or do you mean the other team members with you will be dummy members?

I think striver_79 might help you in this case, as your situation is very similar to what he was facing during his time

I don't think taranpreet was mid-expert when he participated in ICPC

Then why not ask tourist. He will give even better advice. And guess what, he doesn't even need a team to participate and win.

My point wasn't this. There's a difference between not needing a team vs not having a team.

He suggested me to practice 5 hours gym contests and suggested to use templates to save time (link) and also upsolve previous year icpc/regional problems.

and yes he qualified for icpc alone . But he suggested me to team with someone since in my college there are other good coders too . Incase i participate alone he suggested to increase my cp knowledge .

As far as I know teammates should be present in onsite event, else you will not be able to participate, find some friends it's not thag hard
