This round is rated for all the participants. You will be given 5 problems (one of which is divided into two subtasks) and 2 hours to solve them in each division.

Assume you are YuezhengLing, and in this round, your best friend LuoTianYi will give you several problems to solve.

It's mesanu, flamestorm and me and we are very excited to invite you to Codeforces Round 871 (Div. 4)! It starts on May/06/2023 17:35 (Moscow time).

We worked swiftly to tailor the problems for this contest, so we hope you will enjoy them! We tried to make the statements short, epic and concise.

The format of the event will be identical to Div. 3 rounds:

• 5-8 tasks;
• ICPC rules with a penalty of 10 minutes for an incorrect submission;
• 12-hour phase of open hacks after the end of the round (hacks do not give additional points)
• after the end of the open hacking phase, all solutions will be tested on the updated set of tests, and the ratings recalculated
• by default, only "trusted" participants are shown in the results table (but the rating will be recalculated for all with initial ratings less than 1400 or you are an unrated participant/newcomer).

We urge participants whose rating is 1400+ not to register new accounts for the purpose of narcissism but to take part unofficially. Please do not spoil the contest for the official participants.

Only trusted participants of the fourth division will be included in the official standings table. This is a forced measure for combating unsporting behavior. To qualify as a trusted participant of the fourth division, you must:

• take part in at least five rated rounds (and solve at least one problem in each of them),
• do not have a point of 1400 or higher in the rating.

Regardless of whether you are a trusted participant of the fourth division or not, if your rating is less than 1400 (or you are a newcomer/unrated), then the round will be rated for you.

It's been a while since I set problems for Codeforces competitions, so I hope that you had sufficient opportunity to rest before dealing with my problems again. Oh, no-no, there's nothing to worry about! Probably! I promise!

jeroenodb and adamant (that's me!) are happy to invite you to Codeforces Round 869 (Div. 1) and Codeforces Round 869 (Div. 2) which are going to take place at Apr/29/2023 17:35 (Moscow time). Participants with a rating strictly lower than 1900 will participate in Division 2, while participants with a rating of at least 1900 will participate in Division 1.

Problem

This time we’re delighted to provide you with a new challenging problem from Huawei — Buffer Sharing in Multi-Tenant Database Environment, which is prepared by Huawei 2012 Labs and Huawei Cloud Computing.

Nowadays everyone uses databases directly or indirectly. For example, databases of service providers store shopping records, transaction records, or ticket purchase records. During this challenge, you will work with the multi-tenant database, in which a single database instance is divided into multiple virtual sub-databases, serving different tenants of cloud service.

In such databases, different tenants need to be isolated from each other to prevent services from affecting each other. Therefore, buffer is considered as an important resource for management of large amount of data. When the amount of data in the database buffer reaches the maximum value, the database buffer evicts some data from the memory based on the eviction algorithm and loads new data pages from the disk. Your goal is to optimize sharing and isolation of database buffers in the multi-tenant database. While replacement algorithms considered in this contest be one of the core algorithms, we believe there are multiple approaches one can try here, and some crossover of the algorithms will also increase your chances to win!

Привет! В 24.04.2023 17:35 (Московское время) начнётся Codeforces Round 867 (Div. 3) — очередной Codeforces раунд для третьего дивизиона. В этом раунде будет 6-8 задач, которые подобраны по сложности так, чтобы составить интересное соревнование для участников с рейтингами до 1600. Однако все желающие, чей рейтинг 1600 и выше могут зарегистрироваться на раунд вне конкурса.

Раунд пройдет по правилам образовательных раундов. Таким образом, во время раунда задачи будут тестироваться на предварительных тестах, а после раунда будет 12-ти часовая фаза открытых взломов. Мы постарались сделать приличные тесты — так же как и вы, мы будем расстроены, если у многих будут падать решения после окончания контеста.

Вам будет предложено 6-8 задач и 2 часа 15 минут на их решение.

Штраф за неверную попытку в этом раунде будет равняться 10 минутам.

Напоминаем, что в таблицу официальных результатов попадут только достоверные участники третьего дивизиона. Как написано по ссылке — это вынужденная мера для борьбы с неспортивным поведением. Для квалификации в качестве достоверного участника третьего дивизиона надо:

• принять участие не менее чем в пяти рейтинговых раундах (и решить в каждом из них хотя бы одну задачу)
• не иметь в рейтинге точку 1900 или выше.

Независимо от того являетесь вы достоверными участниками третьего дивизиона или нет, если ваш рейтинг менее 1600, то раунд для вас будет рейтинговым.

В Apr/20/2023 17:35 (Moscow time) состоится Educational Codeforces Round 147 (Rated for Div. 2).

Продолжается серия образовательных раундов в рамках инициативы Harbour.Space University! Подробности о сотрудничестве Harbour.Space University и Codeforces можно прочитать в посте.

Этот раунд будет рейтинговым для участников с рейтингом менее 2100. Соревнование будет проводиться по немного расширенным правилам ICPC. Штраф за каждую неверную посылку до посылки, являющейся полным решением, равен 10 минутам. После окончания раунда будет период времени длительностью в 12 часов, в течение которого вы можете попробовать взломать абсолютно любое решение (в том числе свое). Причем исходный код будет предоставлен не только для чтения, но и для копирования.

Вам будет предложено 6 или 7 задач на 2 часа. Мы надеемся, что вам они покажутся интересными.

UPD. I_love_natalia сломал чекер своим лабиринтом на $$$10^9$$$ ходов. Проблема сейчас решена и все решения перетестированы. Система оценивания изменена. Подробнее

UPD 3: Чекер был ускорен mfv в $$$2.2$$$ раза (по сравнению с моей версией, бенчмарк: $$$4$$$ секунды на $$$1$$$ млрд шагов на вкладке "Запуск"). Текущие рекордсмены:

1. $$$17$$$ млрд — sas4eka;
2. $$$14$$$ млрд — I_love_natalia;
3. $$$6.8$$$ млрд — maxplus (на buglab: 11.3 млрд).

UPD 4: Я обновил чекер: теперь поддерживаются лабиринты вплоть до $$$42$$$ миллиардов шагов до того, как чекер получит вердикт TLE. Лимит на время выполнения чекера на codeforces равен $$$1$$$ минуте. Я отправил лабиринт с числом шагов равным $$$42.015.084.960$$$ и ответ был вычислен за 59799 мс. Может кто-нибудь может посчитать ответ быстрее?

Я с радостью приглашаю вас принять участие в неофициальном зеркале игры «Жук». В этой игре от вас требуется сгенерировать $$$21 \times 31$$$ лабиринт с максимальным количеством ходов жука до выхода из него. Жук перемещается не оптимально и вы сможете увидеть описание алгоритма его перемещения в условии задачи. Основываясь на данном алгоритме, вы сможете создать свой лабиринт и отправить его!

This Saturday VIII Lipetsk Team Olympiad, a competition for high school students from all over the country, will be held in Lipetsk. Maybe you participated in previous Codeforces rounds based on our problems (rounds 643 and 791).

The round will start at 15.04.2023 12:05 (Московское время) and will last for 2 hours. Please notice the unusual time. Each division will have 6 problems. The round will be held according to the Codeforces rules and will be rated for both divisions.

Problems were proposed and prepared by Um_nik, DishonoredRighteous, FairyWinx, golikovnik, teraqqq, grphil, Kon567889, TeaTime, Tikhon228 and dshindov.
