SecondThread's blog

Good morning!

I just published a video about my performance (+173) on Global Round 20 and the past Div 1 Round. It's heavily edited, only includes highlights, and is definitely more entertaining than the usual screencasts, so I thought I'd post about it here. Go check it out.

Here's the thumbnail!

If you want to see me in the Top 10 Contributors so you don't have to go to my profile to check my color, you know what to do.

Mister GM can you tell me please how to keep up while having a full-time job?

When I was preparing for ICPC finals, I'd wake up 6:30 most days of the week, do some virtual contest 7-9 AM and then go to work on my full-time job. It's possible to improve, but needs a bit of dedication :)

I also wonder what is SecondThread opinion.

Is it even allowed to have a full time job as a student?

Because ICPC finals 2020 in Moscow were delayed by 1,5 years, I have already graduated and the finals were a couple of months after I started working full-time.

Nice, I kind of did stuff like that while I was coaching but it becomes kind of meaningless as you start working more. Maybe it's because you were preparing for world finals so that was a good motive.

I am also very interested in SecondThread's experience on having a full time job and making improvement with cp.

For me it is all about enjoying solving problems at my current level, and expecting that I won't improve as fast as people who commit more time to cp.

My rating is low so it'd be nice if we can hear the opinions of high ranked coders.

Can I ask what extension do you use? I mean I know cf predictor but the fact that it tells you what rank you would be with that performace (I think it tells that) it's very cool

Great video, I love the heavily edited showcase of your performance along with the extra commentary! I hope to see more like it in the future :).

Dear parents, if your child is laughing while on codeforces, they are not enjoying coding, they are reading this masterpiece.
