Hi, Codeforces! Glad to announce a design competition for Codeforces T-shirts:)

Conditions:

  • Design must reflec- t belonging to Codeforces community.
  • Short and brief motto is important. Phrase outline can be an additional instrument for expression of idea. An interesting motto can also participate in the competition.
  • Idea is important for a printing. It's not neccessary to implement it fully if you don't feel your skill level right. You can describe your idea with a sketch/text description and that would be enough.
  • T-shirt's background can be white or black.
  • The winner will be determined by Codeforces team according to community opinion.

We consider this options as good ones:

We're waiting for your options during this two weeks. Last day – 14 February. We'll send 3 T-shirts with new design to the winner!

May the creative be with you ;)

UPD: Thank you all for participation! Results will be announced on February 22.

What happened to the t-shirt designs from the last contest? Do users win them for being high-placed in CF contests?

In my opinion no matter what the motto is, personalizing T-shirts makes them 5 times cooler. That's why I really like T-shirt from Looksery Cup, because it has my nick on the back. I don't know how personalizing affects prices or anything, so in result that may be not possible to create such, but at least keep that in mind as an option.

Personalized T-shirts are usually 2-3 times more expensive.

Duh, that's a lot :/. But taking into account multiplier 5 I introduced one can deduce that it is still profittable xD

  1. I'm just trying to lower my contribution as classic methods don't work anymore.

  2. I don't know what Codeforces goal of using new design for T-shirts. Probably they want to increase the number of users, but I don't really see how T-shirts will help. My goal is to get some cool and/or funny T-shirts, so all the things below are according to that goal.

  3. Probably we will never come up with something better than "Hack you!". This is gold, just make more these T-shirts and you are done.

  4. As Swistakk already said, putting handle on a T-shirt makes it much cooler.

  5. Stop proposing options which could be on a sticker! Play with the fact that this is a T-shirt. It looks like trend in CP is to put some strange geometric shapes and competition name on a T-shirt (see Looksery, Yandex.Algorithm, CODEFESTIVAL). It looks good on a T-shirt, but would be a weird sticker, right?

  6. As most of you will continue proposing mottos for stickers, there are two specific rules. First, do not use some famous quotes about programming in general. It almost certainly should be about competitive programming and there are no famous quotes about CP (except for local memes which are good). Second, do not try to make some wordplay about 'code' and 'forces'. The only one good example year ago was using PPAP. But picture about force without juggling with words can be good. Of course, these rules could be broken for REALLY GOOD options. No, not yours, yours are bad.

  7. Now I'll propose some really bad options (in separate comments to get more downvotes, so you can vote for them independently).

Or BB-8. Because its like kittens. Everyone loves BB-8. And, you know, robots. They are programmed.

Yep, BB-8 works on every level. You should definitely pick this one.

Hack a t-shirt maybe mean that codeforces doesn't like give a t-shirt and winner steal (just for fun) it from codeforces :) or maybe mean that get win a t-shirt is a bug for codeforces because winner think he/she doesn't merit for win :)) and maybe mean ...

I wanted to design a shirt that looks good, even if it is not witty, because I want people who don't know about competitive programming to look at the shirt and go, "oh, that's cool!".

For the witty people: try to figure out what the algorithms/data structures in the yellow bar are! There are six of them that are visible.

EDIT: I might want to swap to content of the yellow bar and the blue bar for balance reasons. I'll do it tomorrow, I'm sleepy.
