Torta's blog

Hi there,

Recently a Chinese company reached out to me, called SIHE.AI, that claims to have recruited several ACM ICPC world finalists. They also claim to have held a programming competition at their office, where most participants were IOI gold medalists and ACM ICPC world finalists.

Could anyone help me confirm or deny this? Thank you!

I don't even find the offical website of this company...

They claim the same thing as you said here on many Chinese recruiting websites, but their self description is quite vague. They claim they do "industrial robots" and "computer vision detection" without providing any concrete examples or products. They boast their tech lead without telling his full name and accurate educational background. Even if they are not lying, I think they simply looks too uncertain and irresponsible, especially for a foreigner.

According to their HR representative, this is supposed to be their tech lead: http://wjchen84.github.io/index.html, but there isn't anything on his CV mentioning SIHE.AI.

I think he might be the second person from the right in the photo I've attached, but I can't find any information about that competition.

They also claim to have sponsored ACM-ICPC East Continental Final. Can someone verify this?

As one of the participants, I can verify that they did hold a programming competition at their office in Shanghai (and provided full travel sponsorship for non-shanghai based participants who has participated in ACM-ICPC WF before).

They gave us an introduction talk on the company's products, visions at that time as well. (However, I forgot most of the details...)

I asked them about their website and they said this: "Sorry that we are at stealth mode and not much info (especially English info) can be found online." That sounds a little strange to me.

I'm in the interview process (and still doubtful). So if anyone gets some helpful information about this company, I would thank him if he can share his information with us.
