Interviewbit_is_fraud's blog

By Interviewbit_is_fraud, history, 2 months ago, In English,

Hello, I was enrolled in Interviewbit(Scaler academy) course in May, 2019. I belongs to tier 3 college. Only companies with max 5-6 lack per annum comes to my college. In a hope of getting into good companies I decided to join Interviewbit. I qualified their entrance test which is hard in itself for many average coders in India. Then in a hope of securing good referrals, I used to maintain my Problem solving Percentage above 80% most of time.

When the time of referral come in september — october 2019, they were saying that, right now companies are hiring for on campus and thus we will refer you around November. I believed them. Continued to solve problems working day and night, burning the midnight oil, just in a hope that if I get a referral of good companies.

Now, when when it is november 2019, they came up with new excuse. They told that we are in talk with top tech companies, you will soon hear good news from us. Then many days passed. Nothing happened. I was still hoping that i will get a call soon. In february, I again asked them, I didn't receive call from any company. They said let me check.

Next day they told that many companies are now hiring from tier 1 colleges. Once the hiring is over we will refer you soon. Then I realized that they are liars, cheaters. I had only 1 offer from the company which came to my college of 5.25 lacks. I became very disappointed by the response of interviewbit. I started asking for referrals on Linkein. As I was not from a good college, I have only my programming achievements like 5* on cc and expert on cf and kickstart, fb hackercup and codejam ranks which i secured, and projects to show to people whom I asked referral with. I shared my resume with people from companies GoldMan Sacs, Morgan stanley, DE shaw, Amazon, Google, flipkart etc. And to my surprise they agreed to refer me. I will not tell the entire process as it would be too long. Now I have fte offer from a very good company and currently pursuing an intern. The sad thing here is that in the hope of securing referrals of google from Interviewbit, I didn't applied through careers and now their off campus hiring for 2020 graduates are closed. I asked people from google, 90% of them agreed to refer me, but the problem is there is no hiring for 2020 now. They told me that once you get suitable job ib, please me. I will refer you.

Now, I still have to pay 3 lacks to interviewbit as it was mentioned in the contract that even if you get job yourself you will have to pay them. Even they didn't refer me in a single company. Such a shameless people they didn't hesistate to ask money for which their contribution is 0. Now they have removed the cap of 3 lack also. If you secure a job of 16 lacks per annum, you will have to pay 5 lacks to them. Such a huge amount of money for such pathetic things. This money increases with your offer. they are liars , cheaters and fraud. they will have to bear the curse of students.

They have come up with new things in the contract which tells that, you can't publish any statements against them, which may be a concern to company or company's product. They don't want to let their things out to the world, But these duffers don't know that their are many other means to tell people about their true colors.

Let me also tell you their business model, They will not give you referral till the end of session, and when your end of contract date will approach, they will refer you in pathetic companies with ctc just greater that the ctc they provided in contract. Many students who don't have the job offer, in desperation agrees to accept the offer and they still have to pay them. This is their fraud model. dont give referralls, and when session comes to end, try to gain from insecurities of students, refer them in some pathetic startups and claim money.

Here is a blog which lists down problems faced by students who are enrolled.

https://scaleracademyfraud.blogspot.com

I just want to tell my juniors that if you have talent, you don't need any other thing. Before joining Inteviewbit I was pretty good in programming. I just joined for referral but they cheated. Please dont let yourself in their trap.

Thank you.

Many students will now speak against their true colors. All of them have realized that it was just a dream which scaler people showed them, They are going to get nothing from IB. they will be thrown in some pathetic startup which will ruin thier long term career.

Thank you for the video. I have shared among all my juniors and asked all my Indian mates to do this.

The video received 200+ Likes and 10 dislikes in the first 10 hours, suddenly a lot of dislikes(100+) started coming in the end night(in an hour or so) when the video went viral. It is not clear to me a video which is being appreciated by so many over Linkedin, and other places. Who are the one who are disliking? I will request them to please comment and come forward to express their concerns(P.S: if they are even genuine people or some random fakes being created to put down the video)

Hey, Errichto, with all due respect, If I can take the courage to go against a company, that too disclosing my face, name, everything, why will I write a blog that too using a fake account? I posted it at Linkedin with the my name. It's just that since people are still under contract, they don't want to go against these big names in Indian market, hence might be someone. Take my word, that's not me. I think people should not be surprised if we see many more coming in the future once the batch gets over. Thanks.

Ofc. it doesn't, why do you ask? But being so defensive and yet not answering my question twice — it's fishy for sure.

EDIT: just in case you wonder about my opinion: I can believe that it's a bad company and doesn't really provide good referrals. But it has nothing to do with my question. I was just curious and asked about two things being posted a day apart.

I guess there is some misunderstanding. I thought I answered you and you were asking the person who posted this blog. Since you wanted a straight answer, it will be No to your first question, and yes to your second. Coincidence is that people are giving reactions to some action(I kept my POV and nothing else) that I took. Coincidence is people are posting blogs from fakes, commenting from fakes, and apparently a video comes out exactly after 24 hours of mine praising. I again state I misunderstood that I answered your question, thanks.

Needless to say. You are right. He would not be afraid to admit it if you pester him more. But it elaborately suggests that Scalar Academy is a fake company, thirsty for money having a top ACM ICPC coder as one of the CO-Founders, which is their USP(Unique Selling Point). I must admit, they moulded their profiles in such a way that it looked ambitious for the naked eyes of students coming from lower tier colleges.

I have family who had worked in recruitment industry and they told me that in most of the deals they made with companies, the company paid them 8% (1 month) of the candidate's CTC. It was not deducted from the candidate, but was given by the company only.

When I told them that InterviewBit was taking 16% of the CTC (2 months), and that too from the candidate instead of the company, they thought something was amiss. And, then I told them that it was 16% for 2 years so it's actually 4 months and that's when they were sure it's a scam. Guys, before enrolling in such programs please realise the impact of having to give 4 months salary.

I could not find many people on LinkedIn who had gotten a job through this program and their testimonials were very vague and not concrete. Moreover, the fact that they unethically steal questions for their contests and internal tests should tell you how they operate. This is why I didn't enroll in it, even after clearing the entrance test.

I think leetcode is the best platform to practice for job interviews. I like the UI especially that is amazing and forces you to try again and again to get it "Accepted", and also shows the possible test that failed. In interviews you have to come with all the edge cases covered so these test cases matter! while practicing make sure you don't ignore them, and try to achieve the best time complexity and space complexity :) . There are lot of other benefits, you can give leetcode a try and then realize them.

Cheers Happy Coding!

They exploit the fear of tier 3 college students in India. And they are mostly successful because most of the tier 3 college students are not investing that much time into practice algorithms or developing software. Imagine if OP hadn't study himself/herself to be able to land a job, OP would have always been thinking that maybe he/she wasn't good enough and got lucky if they get anything.

If it's true what you said why they are offering me MIN CTC of just 9.5 LPA while my current CTC is around 6 and having nearly 3 years of experience. When I raised this to my success manager and dropped mail for the same that 9.5 is just too low. I am not hearing anything back from them. I contacted Abhimanyu for the same. He just said if you think this is low you can apply for the next batch. This is because they are already full in capacity for April batch with people having relatively much higher current CTC than me. If they are really there to teach as they are saying nowadays. Why they are afraid to offer even market standard MIN CTC for 3 years of experienced professional. I too think they are playing very smartly with aspiring students/professionals emotions to make money.

(Maybe some people in this thread would like to know more about referrals in big companies, so I'll write some)

Getting people in big companies to refer you is usually not too difficult. Companies generally have money incentive for employees to refer people. So as long as you can show that referring you won't be a waste of time (e.g. if you're Codeforces yellow, violet or even blue), many people will gladly refer you.

"How meaningful is the referral?" would be a more tricky question. I referred lots of people and some didn't pass resume round (even though I wrote many good things about them).

Also if you're just asking complete stranger, they won't have anything to write about you. Referrer needs to fill a form with question like "Why should we hire this candidate?". Your referrer either need to lie or just wrote something like "I don't really know this person".

If you can't see that then there is nothing that I can say to you. Also I know Errichto didn't give any judgement but I also feel you r the same person with different accounts.

Nah I am not the same, I can bet any number of millions on that. I shared my POV, for your info, I have not used any words as fraud or so, so please stop using words which I have not used to label that I have used. I appreciate that they have taken up our concerns, and allowed us to leave, I really appreciate this decision, and have mailed them regarding the same. Thanks.

Sharing a POV, was never a negativity. If people can share the success stories, everyone has a right to share the other side too. Take everything constructively. It will help you grow. Peace.

Also Errichto has not given a statement, he has raised a questions.

In case someone has doubts, I confirm this sentence ;)

Bro the co-founders of scaler Anshuman sir and abhimanyu sir did a session to answer all your questions.

So what did they say? That it's ok to remove bad comments and to pressure students to say something good? I think that the only thing that could save them is some stats about referrals because that's the main point here. What's the average number of referrals given, waiting time for that, how many of those are to FAANG or something like that? Maybe some salary stats too. If company is good, they should be happy to be transparent.

Talking about transparency I am a student at that academy and I don't they are hiding anything. And no one told me to write anything good at any platform. Errichto please read about scalar academy or about anshumann Singh and Abhimanyu saxena they r genuine people. What did they say in discussion yesterday. Well they are more than happy enough to cancel anyone's contract and not demand a single penny even after spending so much time in teaching them. If such a comapny is fraud well then we need to change the definition of fraud in English dictionary.

          What discussion? Where?

It's hard for me to believe that they are okay with not caring about contracts they required people so sign. If they wrote that, it's cool and I hope students can quote it in case of difficulties to cancel the deal.

Same question I asked another guy believing in scaler. Can you answer this? If it's true what you said why they are offering me MIN CTC of just 9.5 LPA while my current CTC is around 6 and having nearly 3 years of experience? When I raised this to my success manager and dropped mail for the same that 9.5 is just too low. I am not hearing anything back from them. I contacted Abhimanyu for the same. He just said if you think this is low you can apply for the next batch. This is because they are already full in capacity for April batch with people having relatively much higher current CTC than me (anyone attended April batch onboarding webinar will tell). If they are really there to teach as they are saying nowadays. Why they are afraid to offer even market standard MIN CTC for 3 years of experienced professional. I too think they are playing very smartly with aspiring students/professionals emotions to make money.

What is "lack"? Is it another Indian word like "give contests" or "question"? There is no such meaning in both reverso context and urban dictionary.

He meant lakhs, which is a common numbering unit in South Asia. One lakh is equivalent to one hundred thousand.

Just my 2 cents. I saw InterviewBit openly criticising companies and preaching them that "they are doing harm to society as well as to themselves by not agreeing to interview-bit proposals". May folks retaliated back in the form of comments. So did I. We were just expressing our views. This smart fellow deleted everyone's comments as they were negative. And then made a post that he accidentally deleted comments and has requested LinkedIn if there is some way to restore them. I had patience to write my view again from scratch. Assuming that guy had genuinely made mistake and deleted comments. He then requested on LinkedIn to me to share my number. He called me, asking me to remove my comment. I said, I am expressing my view, I can re-word if anything is causing harm to their company reputation or if anything is open for interpretation but I still want to put my honest point of view. Guess what! He deleted the comment again after a day. This time it can't be accidental. I went ahead and posted it on Quora where they openly request people to share their reviews. Providing a reference link here:

I used to admire IB a lot. But this act certainly made me sad. I can understand what pressure a student will be going through when these people try every possible way to suppress any difference of opinion or any negative comment.

Actually the truth is, their credibility has been 0 among top tech companies in recent months. Now no one is giving response to them. This guy's linkedin post shows that frustration. Thank you for sharing and telling people the truth.

For many colleges there are good coders but good companies don't come to visit and so such fraud institutions make use of that, promising referrals and all..really disappointing to see all this.
