Global rounds are rated for all participants, think normal codeforces rounds Div 1+2+3.

Educational rounds promote a certain university every time, and are usually held on extended ICPC rules. (They have no scoring distribution.) It is usually rated for Div.2 and have similar difficulty.

      Actually, suppose you make your post heading "Codeforces normal rounds vs Educational rounds vs Global rounds", then it will be helpful because then it can be easily googled if someone else has same doubt in the future.

      "A small doubt.." is not an appropriate title.

These have some score distribution. Hacking can be done in the contest itself. Once you lock your solution to a problem, you can hack other participants' solutions.

  1. Codeforces Global Rounds
    a. Rated for all

  2. Codeforces Div2
    a. Rated for <= 2099

  3. Codeforces Div1+Div2
    a. Rated for all
    b. This is actually 2 contests(Div1 and Div2) held at the same time with some shared problems. Participants <= 1899 participate in Div2 and participants >= 1900 participate in Div1.

These rounds have equal weightage for each problem and have a 12 hr hacking phase after the contest ends

  1. Educational
    a. rated for <= 2099

  2. Div3
    a. rated for <= 1599
