Codeforces Global Rounds 2022: Final Results (GR19-GR24)

Hello, Codeforces.

It's time to take stock of last year. Shall we begin? And we are happy to sum up the results of the last season of Global Rounds. We announce the results!

We remind you that the global rounds are a joint initiative of XTX and Codeforces.

We hold 6 such rounds per year. All of them are open to both divisions. At each such round, 50 brand T-shirts were handed out, and we are happy to give T-shirts to all problem authors.

The prizes for the 6-round series are:

  • In each round top-100 participants get points according to the table.
  • The final result for each participant is equal to the sum of points he gets in the four rounds he placed the highest.
  • The best 20 participants over all series get sweatshirts and place certificates. The final standings after six rounds (sorted by total points in four best-placed rounds):

Why do we allow nicknames such as RussiaMustDie on the platform? Isn't it violating some of the community rules and guidelines? Even if formally it isn't, still I think such a nickname is promoting violence and aggressive behavior. No matter what political views the author of this nickname has, Codeforces is a place which unites people from many countries all over the world and allowing users to plea for someone or something to die or be destroyed in other way can have unfavorable consequences for the community.

    There is no single word of violence nor aggression in this nickname (except the word "Russia", maybe, which is now synonym of both violence and aggression). It just describes the will of author to see the end of current political regime in his homeland, which is, in fact, the most peaceful thing I can think of.

        Sorry, but it's your country where people "must shut up" when they do not agree with government position. I'm living in democratic country with freedom of speech and I can say whatever I want. Don't be jealous.

          Although I completely don't agree with how you see my country, I am not wanting to talk with you about politics. You must make sure that this is a CODE community, not somewhere where you are "talking politics freely" but actually having your nose taken by some media which only allows you to see what you have to see.

    In general, there are lots of tricky situations that show up when you start banning people from the top down for things like their nicknames unless it's really obscene. If you don't like their choices, you can just downvote things that person says, and if enough people agree with you the content will be hidden.

    It also gets a little slippery here though: If "RussiaMustDie" isn't okay, what about "conqueror_of_tourist" or "LGMSniper"? Certainly the later two aren't incitements to violence, they're proclamations of in-programming-contest victories.

    (To be clear though, I don't support this nickname at all, and am disappointed someone would pick it--I just don't think we should be in the practice of unilaterally banning people we disagree with)

    Think better, these person wants that rusia die and the peace and prosperity started in ukraine and europe. So these person is promoting only kindness, peace, love. All of these words are opposite to the word "russia". So the person that promoting violence and aggressive behavior is you as you pay taxes and help russia to continue war. Better delete your account on codeforces as you violate codeforces comunity rules.
