TrendBattles's blog

Before this happened, I had been training nonstop for like 200 days (as you can see here)

and after more than half a year, I became an expert from a pupil

I always want to become CM or M before VOI happens and even though it may be hard to achieve, I'm gonna try as best as I can. It was an accident when I forgot to maintain my streak, however, I realised that not every time training gives benefits so this may be a short break for me lol. Anyways, wish me luck on my near future.

Isn't it common knowledge that you get better during breaks?

this knowledge is anecdotal at best, since we do not know how recovery for brain really works. For example, i usually get marginally worse if i take long breaks, and i don't see any substantial changes in my skill when i take small ones.

it's due to time zone difference, if you change your timezone to +7, you'll see 203

Most of your squares are light green, i feel suspicious that you are practicing just to feel that you are practicing everyday. I used to do this quite a lot before, just solving easy problems to keep streak going. So perhaps analyse that once

Yes, I've cautioned that usually and it's not a good strategy in my opinion. I'm trying to lengthen the time I spend on thinking so hope that works.

I think virtual participating contests and upsolving it afterward is a good way to practice imo, you ended up only spending 2-3 hours per day but it could benefit if you want to improve on your rating.

You shouldn't really look at the streak, problem solve if you enjoy it and if you need a break, feel free to take one. It is not a good idea to force yourself to practice as it can lead to exhaustion and potential loss of motivation.

I know, that's why I decided to break the streak and try more efficient strategies.

If you stop completely, you instantly become LGM, as long as you believe!

Practice easy problem to maintain streak isn't gonna help you get CM.

I think have a rest is good for you and I advise you to solve more problems.

Light green means you dont solve more than 3 problems, but suppose you solve 1 problem in 1 hour, three hours practice is very necessary.

Together, rest should not be more than 3 days. As you can see, I was a Candidate Master, but i did't practice for about half a year. I can solve the *2400 problem and i would fail system test in a div2 A.

Hope you have a nice future and same to me.

Good luck to you too lol. For light green ones, I used to practice quite a lot of problems that are out of my comfort (like 2100+) and I only aim to do 1 — 2 per day as it was my limit.
