Maybe this is a silly question, but I can't find the answer: how can someone set tags for a particular problem? Thanks!

Problemsetters do the job?

You can click "Add tag" after solving the problem, but it works only for recently added problems.

Interesting... thank you! Do you know what "recently" means, exactly? Anyway, it seems a lot of tags is set incorrectly.

The requirements appear to be that:

  1. Your rating has to be at least 1900 (purple and above)

  2. You must have solved the problem

  3. The problem must have been added recently (I am not sure what the exact time period is)

After the requirements have been met, you should be able to see editing options with the problem's tags.

how

Too easily imho. There's a lot of nonsense tags. For example, problem F from the last round had the tag "DFS or similar", but it doesn't involve tree traversal in any meaningful capacity nor does the editorial mention it. (It can involve insertions into a trie and then checking its vertices, but it doesn't have to, it's a trivial thing even if it does and a trie would be used as a specific data structure there anyway.)

I've corrected some even more nonsensical tags, but I usually don't pay attention to that and I doubt many people do. It should be on problemsetters first of all.

I agree problem-setters should take the initiative to add tags. But there should also be a provision for the masses for editing tags. I'd like however, that an element of weight be introduced to the tags. The count of votes for a particular tag for each question should determine which tag should be displayed (the order can depend on count). In addition to this, users that add "nonsensical" tags, can be put in a "cooldown" or their votes can be lesser weights. Also, the rating for casting votes for tags should be >=1900, as it already is.

A shortcoming of this approach might be the fact that not everyone may be dedicated towards adding tags, in which case, the best alternative would be to encourage problem setters themselves to go the distance.
