I thought of this long ago but was too lazy to write it. I will try to keep the idea brief.Lets ask some series of questions.
Why do people are cheating in CP?
People cheat because they are getting some benefits from cheating as simple as that! Now what are the possible benefits people can get from cheating in CP? We will focus on major benefits.
They want to high rating. But why? Because they want to use/show it somewhere. More than $$$90\%$$$ of people cheats because they want to use it so that they can get some weightage for getting their Jobs/Internships. They do so by writing their ratings...master/CM... in their Resume/CV.
Note most company shortlist people if they have good ratings or have done some extra-ordinary in CP. Of course people will be disqualified later in interview process if they are not good enough but for cheaters even getting shortlisted for interview is precious!!)
Now we have some idea why people may cheat.
What Codeforces can do?
Since we know the people want to cheat because they want to write in their resume. Note that people want to cheat but they never wish for getting caught.(agree?) Also no one want to live their life in shame. For example you don't want people of your community looking at you as a thief and that's why people don't do bad things in front of others because they are afraid of getting caught and then may be they can't bear the pressure of shame?
Also there are $$$50\%$$$ chance that you will get caught by interviewer if he/she ask you to show your profile and you have cheat(say on codeforces) and on
Now considering all these in mind MikeMirzayanov can do something as follow... He can create/implement a special Badge of Cheaters on the profile of every user. When a user get caught on plagiarism or if someone report him/her with full convincing proof they on their profile this $$$Special \, badge$$$ will show that he is a cheater. This Badge will help a to create Shame/Fear for the user from the CP community. Not only this But after getting shortlisted there are $$$50\%$$$ chance that this user will get caught by interviewer if he/she ask him/her to show their profile and they have cheated. Surely if they are cheater and in past codeforces(or some people with proof) was able to detect them as cheaters then they will not put this in their Resume why? because we have our $$$Special \, badge$$$ on their account and they don't want to ruin their whole carrier buy showing it to an interviewer.
