ICPC slot problem

I think, some regions are getting less slots despite having better contestants. But people in some other regions take slots as granted. They don't care at all about WF. They think that qualifying for WF is a lifetime achievement, why bother practicing, let's enjoy the tour instead. So, they don't even stand under rank 50, for years after years!! Participants from these regions continuously perform poorly. So, I think it is better if their slot was decreased so that they would be motivated to perform better next time.

I partially agree, but keep something in mind, many regions are getting extra slots this year because some teams participation was moved from WF17to this because of visa issues. For example, all syrian teams couldn't go past year and got extra slots for this year.

I also think in general ICPC considers # of teams and growth.

    I was not talking about visa issue.

    "ICPC considers # of teams and growth" — not talking about taking out all slots. Little decrease can make them serious too, which is a growth I guess.

      I do understand your point, this is why I said I partially agree. I was only stating what ICPC most probably does for allocating slots.
