Hey! Together with Meet IT Foundation, we're delighted to present Camp IT!

So, what is it actually about? The main objective is to provide a place for development and networking for young programmers. This relates not only to algorithmic olympiads, but also to computer science activities of any kind!

Yet another IOI camp? Of course not! Although you will spend some time during the day doing IOI-styled problems, there are also Practice Activities and Evening Activities which aim to show you cool parts of computer science and give entertainment after a day of hard work.

Who can apply? You can apply if you're under $$$21$$$. Don't forget you need to fill in the Applicant Questionnaire, for which the time is May 2019.

What about money? We're happy to announce that you can attend Camp IT not caring about economical issues. We cannot reimburse travel costs, however.

If you would like to know more, refer to:

See you in September! =)

What is the purpose of IOI-like camp right after the IOI?

It's never too early to practice before the next IOI. And the camp looks cool, especially because it's free. Maybe it would be better to specify the target audience/participants though. Only high school? What if someone just starts with programming?

The camp is not intended to be an IOI preparation camp. The main target are definitely high school students, although in some countries you start earlier, in some you start later..

We can't also exclude the possibility of application from someone without a competitive programming background but with a similar experience in web development. And we will obviously consider such an application as he's by no means a 'worse' participant than someone who trained for IOI

You don't have a limit on the number of participants? If 5000 Indians apply, what happens?

Well, of course we do. If 5000 indians apply, we will just have fun time reading solutions for the qualifying quiz :)

Can Indians even apply? It does say for Central and Eastern Europe. Or are the rules such that we can self-fund but not get any reimbursements, etc?

The sentence you're quoting says 'IN' not 'FOR'. They can apply and get invited, we cannot afford to reimburse the travel costs, though.

Why don't you make it before this year's IOI? You'll have enough time to make another camp next year.

There are quite a few reasons for this date, but there's no point in discussing it now, as it's decided.

The question about date with respect to IOI is slightly invalid as the camp is NOT an IOI preparation camp. We aspire to create a chilled non-competitive friendly environment for learning, not a place to show off before IOI.

Although high school students are our main target, if a university student wants to participate, they surely can apply!

I'm not sure what you mean. Events like that are not designed to help you "get" somewhere, but develop your skills. So in some sense the answer is no, as we don't have anything in common with cmu, but simultaneously the answer is yes as increasing your skills usually contributes to having higher chances while attempting to get admitted somewhere.

Does codeforces rating matter in the application process? If so, how much of an impact does it have?

Проголосовать: нравится 0 Проголосовать: не нравится

The Codeforces rating itself has little significance. Good analytical skills will probably help you in solving the questions from the Qualifying Quiz, though. But there are also other important aspects like motivation or willingness to contribute to the event, which you can show in other parts of the application.

Well. Of course you can apply (and I mean "have the possibility to get accepted"). On the other hand, as mentioned above: we cannot afford to reimburse the travel costs.

If you, for example, have a scholarship which you have to spend on scientific-based activities (some districts in Poland have something like this), it would be perfect :)

It's located in Milówka, Poland. The easiest way to get there is by train. Travel costs (non-premium tickets) — from Katowice ~15 PLN — 4 USD, Krakow ~17 PLN — 4.50 USD, Warsaw ~60 PLN — 15 USD, Gdansk ~70 PLN — 17.50 USD. I think the most expensive are flight tickets, just check them yourself.

You can apply. It depends on your application whether you get accepted or not. I can't say what is the minimum level, it is hard to judge. Do your best in the application form and that's it

Is this camp interesting for 2nd year university students? (A double degree in maths and computer science)

I'm 20, but I don't know if the level is high enough for a university student to learn (plus, I have to pay the trip anyway and I would be taking someone else opportunity to go). Also, It'd be interesting to learn other things apart from algorithms.

In problem 1 we are supposed to choose a connested subset o vertcies, but since the whole graph is connected(or isn't it?), we can choose any subset of nodes, right?
