Hi, everyone!

My name is Aleksandr Mokin. I've been teaching competitive programming for 3 years as my main job.

I was a winner of the All-Russian Olympiad in Informatics in 2012, an awardee in 2011 and 2013. In 2018 I became a finalist of the ICPC world programming championship.

In 2019 I started teaching and have helped dozens of people to make progress and reach their goals (see people's feedback). Since then I've developed my own approach. I don't just guide people through notorious algorithms, but also teach concrete techniques on how to solve real problems and quickly write a working code.

Now I've decided to try bringing it to another level. I want to reach the worldwide audience: feel free contacting me on Facebook, Telegram, private messages or e-mail: [email protected]. My base rate is $30/h.

If I get enough feedback, I promise to create a YouTube channel devoted to CP, write articles, create free courses and textbooks. So if you don't need private lessons, please still upvote this post, so someone can find a tutor and Codeforces can get a full-time contributor. Otherwise, the world will get another boring FAANG employee.

Competitive programming is my passion – help me fulfil my dream!

How much funding would you need up front in order to start making a course? Maybe those who are interested can just start funding you up front

I'm flattered that someone is ready to fund my course. I already got a lot of feedback, I am very grateful to the Codeforces community, so I will keep my promises. Maybe later I will also make a Patreon or something.

Patreon is definitely a good idea, a lot of youtube channels get funded by the community this way. Of course, you will still need to first build some basic brand by yourself, mostly unpaid, but it can grow over time like Errichto or William Lin. Occasional interview-related content can also help here.

I have mixed feelings about mixing CP with interviews. It's good to choose a target audience that will enjoy your videos — and then they don't want to see unrelated stuff.

But it indeed helps growing a channel.

Just wanted to know if you do tutoring in english too? Also would you be interested in tutoring someone in the newbie — pupil level?

As you see, right now I am not a Grandmaster either. I won't hide, I am more oriented towards teaching how to infallibly solve easy problems. But we can try having a lesson, if you set a theme you want to discuss or send me problems you want to analyze in before, I can prepare and do some research.

It is kinda joke 25$/hour if you go internationally, e.g. for European audience. Didn't you think for a higher price? Being red and having full 3 year experience you should start at least from 40$/hour in my opinion.
